HOW TO BECOME A COMMISSIONER

The Far South Columbus Area Commission holds elections each year for Commissioners on the second Saturday in September. Follow these steps to be considered for the September 11, 2021 election:

1. Read the “Responsibilities of a Commissioner” found on page 20 of the Commission By-Laws.
2. Download and complete a Declaration of Candidacy form.
3. Collect at least 25 signatures from residents and/or property owners in the Far South Columbus Commission area on the nominating petition
4. Have the Declaration of Candidacy and petition notarized
5. Submit the notarized Declaration of Candidacy and nominating petition, along with a bio (and photo) to the Commission no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021 to Commissioner Rev. Bonnie A Draudt, 3796 Whetstone Drive, Groveport, OH  43125.
6. You will be notified by the Election Committee of confirmation on your candidacy for the 2021 ballot.

Voting will occur on Saturday, September 11 by private ballot from 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon. The predetermined location for voting will be posted here and online on the City of Columbus City Bulletin.

All ballots will be counted and certified, and the recorded results announced publicly.
